6 Reasons to Specify a Glass Mirror Wall or Vintage Mirror

Updated: Feb 15

We have many mirror products available to create a glass mirror wall; we specify and manufacture these pieces for each property and customer, giving a uniqueness quality to the finished product.

But why would you investigate sourcing and purchasing one. They are not a cheap alternative to say a wallpapered wall or even a painted one, but they add a particular quality that neither of these two options can offer.

These are the 6 reasons why....

1. They give the illusion of space - obvious but easily overlooked - with innovative designs these eye-catching products can visibly double spaces, giving the illusion of extra footage with people especially used in restaurants and bars this is a great trick and usually adds atmosphere too.

This is a perfect example of mirrors in a restaurant, although not shown with people the mirror reflects the space making it seem larger.

In private spaces they work brilliantly in small apartments and actually expand small hallways, we visited a small apartment once where the space had been divided up with a practical but boring and dark blank partition wall which made it feel enclosed and small, we proposed a large mirror feature wall and once installed, it transformed the space immensely.

2. Practicality - large silver glass mirror walls in dance studios & gyms help to see definition and progress. These mirrors are statement pieces and functional but one tip is to make sure they are manufactured in a substantial thickness and quality; as no-one wants to see a bendy mirror!

Another reason they are practical is that they can cover storage and still be a feature mirror as seen on bedroom wardrobes, show here in this luxurious and contemporary interior.

3. Create Light - In a home (or any space for that matter) consider specifying the bathroom mirror which is often small and above a sink - as a big feature instead. In small bathrooms they add light to dark corners, if placed opposite a light source, light can quite simply bounce light around the room. Again the same applies to hallways which can be the most overlooked room in the house! Not everyone likes to see themselves in full HD though in these rooms, so consider bronze, vintage or eglomise mirrors instead which are a great option for a more 'muted' wall feature whilst attracting the light.

4. Branding and Uniqueness - Surprisingly and a lesser known attribute - they can be used to display your banding by adding graphics, a logo or a design feature which will make a mirror wall into a statement stand-out feature which visitors will love while at your venue. In this social media era where everything is Instagram-able - a wall with your name on, is the quickest way of getting your brand out there into the public domain.

Shown here as our own branding, we can add in logos, name and even pictures in gold leaf into our vintage mirrors. Consider this as an extra ingredient to your interior!

5. Low Maintenance - Our vintage mirror and reeded glass splashback products especially for kitchens are easy to clean and low maintenance. They are also a long lasting product which never need re-grouting, they don't fade or decay over time. Once installed they last a lifetime or until you simply want to change the decor.

6. Luxury - Antique, bronzed, or Eglomise Mirrors add further luxury to an interior.

We have shown examples of mirrors we have manufactured and installed. Vintage mirrors and plain are now not just being confined to the washroom; they give glamour to a space large blank wall can be decorated basically mirrors are a ‘window of light’ and transform spaces dramatically.
